WEDDINGS Military Chaplains are able to perform weddings for military personnel. At least one marriage counceling season is required by chaplain of choice beofore wedding. Chaplians are unable to perform weddings out of state.
SINGLE SOLDIER/AIRMAN and MARITAL SUPPORT Due to the strain of deployments upon the family, Marriage Enrichment Weekends are funded and supported by the command of the Montana National Guard. These weekends are solely for married couples at various locations around the state. The weekends are designed to make “good marriages” better! The weekend begins Friday evening at 1900 and ends Sunday morning after the noon meal. Everyone has their lodging, meals, and program paid by the National Guard. The weekend is designed to be a “win-win” experience as all soldiers are allowed to attend in lieu of a drill. The weekend SUTA only needs to be cleared by the attendee’s supervisor before attending the Marriage Enrichment weekend. No mileage or child care is paid at this time. A limited number of couples are scheduled for each Marriage Enrichment weekend. Sign up early! Be sure to go to StrongBonds.org to register for upcoming events near you. The sites for each of these weekends cannot be published in advance as National Guard Bureau is using their own contractors to set up the sites for each of Montana’s weekends. As soon as a site is selected and contracted, the place of the Marriage Enrichment Weekend will be published! Until then, plan your weekend according to the published date as the dates of our events will not change for FY14. This is also true for the single weekends and our family weekend.
Single weekends are planned for soldiers to give a relaxed venue for classes that enable better decisions for life to be made. Like the Marriage Enrichment Weekends, this weekend may be used in lieu of drill. The weekend SUTA only needs to be cleared by the attendee’s supervisor before attending the Single’s Enrichment Weekend. A limited number of singles are scheduled for each event . . . first come, first served!
MARITAL COUNSELING upon request
BAPTISMS may be arranged for individuals in the Ft. Harrison chapel or other select places. A meeting with the chaplain precedes a scheduled baptism.
FUNERALS, GRAVESIDE SERVICES, OR COMMITALS may be arranged upon request with a telephone call to the chaplain or his assistant.
LINKS TO FREE STUFF FOR TROOPS The websites below have been cleared through the National Guard Bureau’s ACS, JAG, and MWR – all appear to be legitimate.
